Hatha Yoga is a classic approach to yoga that emphasizes physical detail and focus. Hatha Yoga is an accessible way to learn the basic postures and breathing techniques of yoga while restoring your energy, strength and flexibility. This class is geared toward people who are new to yoga as well as those with previous experience. I will guide the class through a full body workout designed to stretch and strengthen the muscles followed by a relaxation sequence that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Lunchtime Power Yoga focuses on using breath to connect to the body, mind and practice. Power Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga where one posture flows into the next to maximize strength, concentration and flexibility. With Power Yoga the student will build strength, increase endurance, release tension, and create more flexibility in the entire body. This is a vigorous workout that will leave you feeling energized!
Yin Yoga is slower paced style of yoga with a more meditative approach. Poses are held for long durations (usually 1-3 minutes) with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Many of the postures focus on opening the hips and low back. As we age, flexibility in the joints decreases and Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility.
